Tory & Caitlin | Ice Castle Engagement Session | Lincoln, NH
I thought it would be appropriate to post Tory and Caitlin's engagement session on the blog today while I am packing for their wedding this weekend! Check back for sneak previews!!
Tory and Caitlin were not looking to do ordinary engagement photos, but when I mentioned NH's Ice Castles, they decided to give it a try! On a Saturday, in between the snow and the rain, we were able to squeeze in this amazing day! We even got a few at Echo Lake at the basin of Cannon Mountain!
Engagement photos are a great way to work with your photographer before your wedding day, and get used to that feeling of having a camera around you all day! Sometimes it really takes away the tension and anticipation of what having a camera around you will be like. It also gives you variety to what you may want to hang up in your home. Sometimes you would like photos of the two of you but not just in wedding attire. And if you really want to make your engagement experience better, why not try somewhere new? Maybe an amazing mountain view, get outside after a snowstorm, or like Tory and Caitlin, if you see an amazing place like the Ice Castles LET'S GO! I am really not that scary and I am all for trekking through the woods or hiking around!
Elena & Jesse | Newport Hyatt Regency Wedding | Newport, RI
A year ago yesterday, Elena and Jesse were married at The Hyatt Regency Newport. I don't know if many people remember, but that was the weekend we were threatened with hurricane weather and freezing temperatures. But my amazingly brave couple and their bridal party toughed it out and we were able to capture some amazing photos!! I could not be more excited to share these again with you! Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Birnbaum!

Farm Post-Wedding Session
Janice and Ryan were married back in April of this year in Narragansett RI on Sunset Farms. I had approached Janice about a day after session to include more laid back photos including her horse and Ryan's motorcycle. However, Ryan was being deployed right after their wedding making it impossible to fit in those pictures.
He came back for a brief four days and we were able to sneak in some of those photos for them!
It was a great excuse to slip back into that wedding dress, that most people only wear for one day, and have a little fun!
Nashoba Valley Winery Vineyard Wedding
Nashoba Valley Winery Wedding Photography photographed in June 2016 by Amanda Morgan.
It's never a guarantee when it comes to weather, Friday and Sunday poured the first week in June. However, even though the weather had been back and forth all week, Saturday came and there was not one drop of rain just a sky full of sunshine! Katie and Nelson couldn't have picked a more perfect day to get married on. Nashoba Valley Winery, was lush with great colors, complementing the rustic feel of the winery. It was truly a perfect day for a vineyard wedding.
The bride was absolutely stunning in her two piece blush BHLDN wedding gown, accompanied by her beautiful hair done by Allure hair design. From the moment of my arrival I could just see the joy in Katie's eyes. From every peek out the window, checking out the flowers and details coming together, to "Joey" the donkey making his arrival! Everything was coming together so beautifully.
The bride and groom were able to sneak a first look before their ceremony, on the vineyard outdoor deck with vines surrounding them. Seeing first hand how emotions change drastically when the love of your life see's you for the first time on the day of your wedding is truly amazing! This was such a magical and special moment for them and i was grateful to capture every moment!
Surrounded by friends and family, the bride and groom embraced each other, hand in hand, both anxiously waiting for the moment each could say i do. (Even with traveling to various weddings every year, this moment is by far my favorite!)
Ladyslipper Designs did an amazing job with all the wedding flowers! I mean look at what they did with the ceremony site and the bride's bouquet! Keep scrolling to see the magic they created for the rest of this bride and groom's massachusetts wedding day!
We then spent about an hour in the vineyard between the grapevines and apple trees taking portraits of the bridal party, family, and of course the enchanted looking bride and groom.
The cocktail hour and reception were held right at the vineyard's pavilion. Nashoba Valley Winery provided both the spectacular food and wines! Bella Cakes, provided all the decadent treats and stunning cake. Linens by Gala LTD, and vintage furniture by Boston Rustic Wedding Rentals. And the amazing Wendy Harrop, the coordinator, made everything run smoothly the entire day!
A huge thank you to Katie and Nelson for having me be apart of your big day!

Cliff Mautner's Lighting and cliff mautner workshopkillset Workshop
My review of Cliff Mautner's Lighting and Skill-set Workshop in NJ that I attended April 2016.
Last week, I attended Cliff Mautner's Lighting and Skill-set Workshop in NJ. I write "Workshop" because that was what it was called. In reality, it was so much more. It has taken me a week to digest all that I learned and process how I want to apply it.
First, Cliff and his studio assistant Heather were the most humble and welcoming people I have met in this industry. Their willingness to teach and help us understand what they do made me feel extremely comfortable and hopeful. Cliff was more than willing to answer all of our questions. He encouraged it! I thought he would just be going over lighting and photo techniques, which of course that was included, however he answered pretty much anything we asked. He even told us when he didn't have the answer. What more can you ask for? Well, bacon, definitely ask for the bacon! (you will understand when you take the class!)
There were also another 18 amazing photographers who attended as well. Each person was there for their own reasons, but it was incredible that all our separate paths came together in this one class! It was such an honor shooting alongside some of the most exquisite people I have ever had the pleasure meeting. As much as we all came to learn from Cliff, we also learned so much from each other.
I can go on and on, but I want to thank Cliff for such an amazing opportunity! No matter where you are in your career, this workshop is inspiring! I feel I can take what I have learned and make my business soar higher than ever! I needed a spark and this was everything, and more, to helping me achieve that! http://www.cmphotography.com/for-photographers/lighting-skillset-bootcamp
A HUGE THANK YOU TO CLIFF MAUTNER!
Here are a couple photos I captured during the workshop...
